Project Yapper Leaderboards FAQs
What is Yapper Mindshare?
Yapper Mindshare measures the share of voice an individual account contributes to a specific project
What contributes towards Mindshare within a specific project Leaderboard?
Relevant discussions about the project, with greater weight given to targeted, focused, and project-specific conversations over general roundups
Real, reputation-weighted engagement, prioritizing high-quality interactions and participation from a broader, more diverse set of CT accounts
Insightful, original, and focused commentary over repetitive or high-volume posting
Advocacy for the project’s alignment and values
I have been posting about the project constantly, why am I not on the Leaderboard?
Not appearing on the Leaderboard doesn’t mean your contributions aren’t recognized. By design, the Leaderboard can only surface the top 100 accounts within a given time period.
Does posting about multiple projects contribute to my Mindshare on multiple Leaderboards?
We’ve introduced a new algorithm that disproportionately rewards accounts showing consistent loyalty and alignment to a smaller set of projects.
This isn’t meant to discourage honest Kaito ecosystem yappers who contribute across multiple Leaderboards. Rather, it’s designed to especially reward community members who demonstrate deeper commitment to a select few.
What behaviours are considered malicious in the network?
Coordinated group farming - Organized, tight-knit groups posting or engaging in sync to artificially inflate Mindshare
Solicited engagement farming - Actively requesting likes, comments, quote tweets, or retweets to boost visibility
Fake or bot accounts - Creating multiple X accounts (or using third-party services) solely to manipulate engagement metrics
How are malicious behaviours identified?
Malicious behavior is detected algorithmically to maintain network integrity and ensure that Leaderboards reflect genuine contributions and rewards go to real contributors.
What is slashing?
Slashing occurs when malicious behaviour is detected.
It can be both retroactive and forward-looking, and is intended to penalize bad actors while preserving the integrity of the network.
Will I be notified if I’m slashed?
To date, only 0.03% of accounts have been slashed for explicit malicious behaviour.
We’re working on making slashing status and duration visible to affected accounts.
That said, this does not apply to 99.97% of users - slashing exists purely to protect the integrity of the network and the broader InfoFi economy.
What are the boosting factors?
Accounts that consistently post about a specific project, demonstrating loyalty
Accounts with higher reputation and quality engagement history
In the future, accounts that allocate a higher percentage of their yaps to a specific project Leaderboard, signalling stronger alignment
Why does the project Leaderboard consider alignment and sentiment? Would this harm critical voices?
The project leaderboard is designed to surface and reward community evangelists who consistently advocate for a project.
Other parts of the ecosystem - like Kaito Yaps, Kaito Yapper Payouts, and X Payouts - inherently reward critical voices due to the viral nature of such content.
We're also developing an algorithm to better identify and distinguish constructive criticism, so that thoughtful critique isn't mistakenly flagged as misaligned.
I was on the 7 day Leaderboard yesterday, but disappeared today - what happened?
Leaderboards operate on a rolling time window — only activities from the defined time period (eg last 7 days, last 30 days) counts and older contributions roll off.
Mindshare is measured relatively, so new contributions from other accounts may have shifted rankings. You can click on your profile to view your week-to-week Mindshare contribution relative to the market.
We encourage all creators to focus more on the 30-day Leaderboard, as the 7-day version is inherently more volatile.
What’s the balance between quality and quantity?
The network prioritizes quality over quantity or spam. To support this, there’s a cap on the number of top performing tweets per week that are counted towards mindshare.
How do language differences affect Mindshare scores?
Similar to Yaps, the algorithm leverages state-of-the-art LLMs that understand regional languages. Content in all languages is assessed fairly for Mindshare contribution.
Does copying other people’s content contribute to my Mindshare?
No, Kaito runs a real-time plagiarism checker to ensure that only original content earns mindshare and rewards, protecting creators who contribute authentic insights.
Which accounts can appear on a project’s Leaderboard?
Only individual 𝕏 accounts are included in the ranking for a Leaderboard.
How does Kaito determine whether an account represents an entity or an individual?
Our AI programmatically analyzes various account attributes - such as the bio, handle, description, profile picture, and tweets - to determine whether an X account represents an entity or an individual. The goal is to approximate how the general audience perceives the account.
Do I earn Yap points for being on the project Yapper Leaderboard?
No, the project Leaderboard is measuring the contribution to mindshare for a particular project, whereas Yap points are based on the broader CT and not linked to any specifc project.
The algo for the individual project Leaderboard is separate from Yaps - people on the leaderboard aren’t guaranteed to earn yaps (and vice versa), and their ranking is not a function of how many Yaps they have.
Do the Leaderboards only show accounts that are connected to Yaps?
The Leaderboard is measuring the contribution to mindshare for a particular project and not related to Yap points. Individuals do not need to be connected to Yaps to appear on the Leaderboard.
